Be sure that it is real, true and valid research… not stuff bought and paid for by a lawyer (Andrew Wakefield was paid by a lawyer to indict MMR), written by those who are paid as “expert witness” (the Geiers) or published in less than reputable journals like “Medical Hypothesis”, JPANDS and “Medical Veritas”.

Also, about wingnuttery: One of the often quoted websites for anti-vaccine propaganda is the “Whale.to” site. The owner of that website is John Scudamore, and has been known on Usenet as a long time “net-loon”. He once sent in a message to several newsgroups about how to avoid “satanic black lines”. He also claims that satanic black lines burned his bum! From

Here’s the thread about Crystal Children that I posted over on ASA (the newsgroup) when I was having the afore-mentioned issues.

What worries me about this (and I don’t know what is recommended in the book as being “appropriate” for the “Crystal children”) is the inaccurate description of autistic children and the possibility that it could actually be rather damaging to put the book into practice with an autistic child.

Okay, Ms. Clark… that is more than enough information on this “celebrity”. Though I confess, I could not recall if she were an actress or a singer. Not that it matters, in just a few more years she will be just another Indigo “has-been” wondering what happened to her Crystal child.

Why would Jenny—a certifiable AIR HEAD—be a preferable source for information to someone with an actual job, like a piano tuner or an electrician??? The woman posed in Playboy? Multiple times? Exccuuuuuse me?

There are so many better and more knowlegible people out there than someone who is pushing “indigo” fairytales.

When I found out my son had a neurological based disorder I read books by Temple Grandin, Oliver Sacks, William Calvin (my son had seizures, so his book about “Conversations with Neil’s Brain” was very interesting)... and more recently I read Roy Grinker’s book “Unstrange Minds”.

Someone please, please, please tell me why Jenny McCarthy, a celebrity who seems to be bereft of any formal science/medical training, would be a better than the above authors.
