Autism Twitter Day

An absolutely genius idea from Bonnie Sayers is levering Twitter to make it work for autism acceptance. To that end she has created Autism Twitter Day.

Autism Twitter Day – Tuesday, Dec 16th pacific standard time – 9AM, 12:30 PM and 8 PM. Prizes will be given out and a panel will be available with information and to answer questions.

This is open to twitter members, specifically those who are members of the autism community, whether it be a parent, sibling or relative. If you are on the spectrum you are welcome to take part. Most of the prizes are geared to children and young adults with autism or asperger syndrome.

The hashtag to be used for autism twitter day is #ASD. This means when you post a tweet that day which is on the topic of autism – positive autism awareness, please use the hashtag, either in front or at end of the tweet. Open up a window at www.summize.com and input #ASD to follow along with the conversation at the specified times. Most likely they will run longer than one hour. We will be testing your knowledge on autism spectrum disorders, this is how the prizes will be awarded.

One of the things Bonnie is doing to attract participants is to offer prizes. She has got a number of people/organisations to donate autism related things. If you have anything you can spare to offer as a prize I’m sure Bonnie would like to have it.

Ms. Kenney, what are Alex Doman’s qualifications? I went to his website and only saw that he was related to Glenn Doman of “patterning fame” (see http://www.srmhp.org/archives/patterning.html ). What is his training? Where did he get his undergraduate degree, what are his graduate degrees?

I asked on his blog, but he seems to be offended that I asked about his academic degrees, and what papers of his were accessible through PubMed. Why is that? Do you hire people based on their family’s past work or by their own qualifications and past work?

Thank you, just be sure to put it on your website. It makes you look like have something to hide.

Unfortunately it seems you have no real academic neurological training other than through the family business and that should be used in context to anyone purchasing your products. Especially when compared to the very qualified resources that are available locally.
