Julian Frost,

thanks for that link.

I will note that this isn't the Supreme Court but the United States Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit. This is quite often the last appeal, since the Supreme Court doesn't take on every case submitted. Since the Omnibus Autism Proceeding cases don't involve questions of law, it is unlikely that the Supreme Court will take these cases should they appeal again.

This is beautiful to watch. The people in charge here (the Special Masters) come across as being at the very least intelligent laypersons and at most better informed than some of the "expert" witnesses. Those who cannot give an answer supported by hard knowledge and carefully done science are finding life very difficult, it would seem.

Whatever the case, they are not being "blinded with (pseudo)science", and are able to ask the right clarifying questions of the real experts (Bustin and co) to make their testimony intelligible to the layperson.

This is turning into a splendid example of (to quote Carl Sagan) "science as a candle in the dark". And it could so easily have been the opposite.

I had all of the day 10 Dr. Brent cross examination by Chin Chaplan on my ipod yesterday. It was torture. I guess I was being masochistic. I wanted to check to see if she was as bad (dumb and annoying) as I had remembered. She was. There's something like 2 1/2 hours of cross from Chin Caplan.

Cedillo v HHS ended today with the rousing words from counsel for the petitioners: "It's not about Andy Wakefield. It's about the Cedillos."

So that's alright then.
