According to several anti-vax Yahoo news groups, Andrew Wakefield has resigned from Thoughtful House.
This is apparently the Thoughtful House statement:
The needs of the children we serve must always come first. All of us at Thoughtful House are grateful to Dr. Wakefield for the valuable work he has done here. We fully support his decision to leave Thoughtful House in order to make sure that the controversy surrounding the recent findings of the General Medical Council does not interfere with the important work that our dedicated team of clinicians and researchers is doing on behalf of children with autism and their families. All of us at Thoughtful House continue to fight every day for the recovery of children with developmental disorders. We will continue to do our very best to accomplish our mission by combining the most up-to-date treatments and important clinical research that will help to shape the understanding of these conditions that are affecting an ever-increasing number of children worldwide.
I’ve left a question mark ove this as there’s no official word of this on the Thoughtful House website and Andrew Wakefield is still listed amongst its staff.

I have emailed their media person to confirm, but have not heard back.
The statement has been posted on the Thoughtful House Yahoo group, with the sending address being the group. So this is official. Condolences have started to be posted also, and the group is moderated.
How did go from being a maverick hero to a liability?
I thought the true believers did not care about the GMC ruling!
If this is true, I am glad.
But I question if even this is justice for the children he hurt.
Now if Jepson and Krigsman would just resign, that would be the trifecta (they’d just show up somewhere else, though.)
Thoughtful House has removed the GMC support statement from their front page and Wakefield from the research staff. You may remove the question mark from the title it seems!
I bet he got a gigantic severance package.
My money says he starts up a Clinic in Costa Rica! Mike Adams will welcome him with open arms.
I suspect he intends to shift his personal activities back to the UK. Going back at the time of the GMC ruling (despite choosing not to appear at the trial) may represent part of a plan to do so.
He could always join the Lupron Franchise and work for the Geiers.

Political correctness comes in all forms. I would have to agree with Ramona that this is NOT the time for Thoughtful House to be hiding behind the rhetoric of `serving our children’. This same language is used daily to justify the continued injury of our children. It pervades our broken health care system to
justify protecting pregnant women, elders and other at risk with the same toxic substances. The big bucks of the pharmaceutical industry have wrought a travesty in this matter that will only be settled in the annals of history. They launched
a professional hanging squad in a country too willing to betray one its finest, most ethical professionals. Only the moms and dads on the front lines of autism have stood steadfastly in Dr. Wakefield’s defense there. I applaud them and hope all of us here in that role do likewise. The disappearance of Dr. Wakefield’s research from the Lancet and other publications serves to illustrate how deeply entwined those professional journals are with the money drives their advertising departments and sustains their printed words. They have overtly divulged their moral bankruptcy and lack of scientific consciousness. I, for one, am sorry to learn that Thoughtful House is using the same careful posturing that has occurred throughout history when major adjustments threatened the status quo. It ill becomes you. How about the children who have been hurt physically at the hands of Wakefield. Spinal taps and colonoscopies used on children who had to endure the pain of the procedures in silence. Who is speaking for them?!? Wakefield and parents who find it amusing that children pass out and throw up from “giving” blood?!? No, to people like Wakefield our children are less than human and undeserving of consideration.
Where may I get a link for an unedited copy of the controversial article. I think the proposed vaccine link-theory is correct or at least poisons in vaccines are a contributing factor like the heavy metals put in them. Thimerosal is 50 % mercury. Mercury has been long known to enter the fat cells of the brain, and the reproduction system. When linked to other heavy metals, lead, for example or aluminum, everything is compounded. What does it do with the chemical sprays that are fat soluble too. And what of parents who conceive a child with their systems full of the marijuana fat soluble stuff used by the younger generation for their relaxation system. All poisonous fat soluble elements are in our water, air, and land. Vaccines overload our systems.
Why not take a lay of information or a private prosecution on the manufacturers who put a known toxin in vaccines and knowingly injected it into our bodies or our babies. This is no true informed consent and medical consumer abuse, in my opinion.

Wakefield and his fellow Scientology crooks who committed the financial frauds and falsified the data that he used to rook and swindle money from people to hand to Scientology will hopefully be caught and put on trial here in the United States, or possibly be extradited to the U. K. since that’s where most of his victims are.
And I see that the Scientology crook’s other fraudulent “research” papers are being re-examined in light of the scientific findings that he’s a crook.
