Eric Meyer Releases Gatekeeper for WordPress

16 Feb

In the fight against comment spam, WordPress has always been very good. Now Eric Meyer has made WordPress even better in the fightback.

He released Gatekeeper as a beta last month which inserts an additional field into the comment form. This field requires an answer to a very very easy question – easy for any human to get but, if you enter enough challenges, virtually impossible for a spambot to guess at.

I’ve just installed it very easily and if you have WordPress I suggest you do the same.

Update – I’ve now implemented a referral spam solution so hopefully this will be the end of spam issues for me.

Love the humor of the NT description, sounds like my daughter’s school psychologist, or who the once “learning disabled” school psychologist tries to be, which indicates to me he might be even more messed up than I thought. Are there any online self tests for neuro non-typical? Anything on left handers being forced by nuns to become right handers?
    Thank you. seafins@aol.com
