Incredibly, as reported by abfh, yet another autistic child has been murdered by their parents – or foster parents in this case (if you follow that link please be aware that there are some particularly tasteless comments from John Best in the comments section).
Marcus Fiesel’s foster parents knew all along their missing boy was dead, say Hamilton County prosecutors. They knew, prosecutors say, because Liz and David Carroll Jr. left the 3-year-old alone for two days in a locked closet while they attended a family reunion. They knew because David Carroll later burned and hid Marcus’ body. They knew even as they cried before TV cameras, begging the community to help them find the missing boy.
I want to be absolutely clear here. These people are scum. Seriously. Scum. My liberal upbringing wants me to try and ‘understand’ how things like this could happen but to be honest, after a spring and summer in which poor Marcus is the fifth murder victim of their parents in the UK and US I don’t give a shit about understanding. They’re scum. Treat them as such.
No doubt this pair of low life will try and play the card that Karen McCarron is in the process of playing – the good old ‘get out of jail free’ insanity card. And why not? Despite the planning that went into sweet Katie’s murder and despite the intentional, wilful cruelty that Liz and David Carroll visited upon their foster son I’ve absolutely no doubt that this collection of low lifers will continue to put themselves first, much as they did when their poor children were still alive.
When Katie was murdered (and yes I know that I’m not supposed to use that word but you know what? If Karen McCarron doesn’t like it, she can sue me) I took refuge in my family and my own beautiful autistic daughter.
Below is a superlative video from Estee of The Autism Acceptance Project which I heartily recommend as an antidote to all the horrors that autistic people seem to be on the receiving end of just lately. Sadly, Ryan, Katie, Christopher, William and now Marcus will never be involved in so beautiful and life affirming a project.

As far as I’m concerned Katie McCarron was murdered. I hope the judges find that Abubakar was murdered, though there may have been no premeditation there, Kerry is also scum. Fortunately, we also have a growing list of life affirming, positive thinking and acting people who aren’t thinking that autism deserves the death penalty.
I feel so bad for this little boy’s real parents. The government took over the raising of their child and handed him over to torturers and murderers.

If you follow the link from abfh’s blog, there’s a lot of information on the case and a lot of commentary from the community who seem to be as stunned, horrified and angry as they should be. I don’t see anyone offering sympathy to the Carrols, there’s plenty of wishing to see the Carrols tortured like they tortured Marcus. A sentiment I find hard not to share.

I am by no means trying to say that any of you wish that another autistic child dies, but I really think that most of you can’t wait to hear about the nextr child that does die especially in a DAN! doctor’s office just so you can get some mileage out it. The reason I know this is because not to long after Abubakar’s death I posted a story on my blog about an 8 year old autistic boy named Jared that got out of his house and drowned in a nearby canal. After I posted this story on my blog the site hits came in like wild fire. It was as if people were just waiting for the next autistic death. I got about 10 times the hits I normally do. The reason I posted the story was because he has the same first name as my son and I thought it was a really sad and unique story. However…in the last year I have come to learn that his story is only sad and not really that unique because many autistic young kids find a way out of their homes nearly everyday and the results are sometimes tragic.
Psychotic parents abuse or kill their children everyday. They are psychotic and autism has little to do with most of them.

The child who died was Katie McCarron Kevin. Karen McCarron was the name of her killer.
No deaths are being used here. As for your comment about Cajun Cowboy, I really suggest you take it up with him directly. He’s placed a message on his site saying he considers Buttar a quack who diddled him for $150k, a statement I wholeheartedly agree with. I fail to see however what it has to do with these stories.

I am 100% certain I speak for all regular commenters on this blog from both my side and your side when I say that I hope that what happened to Abubakar never, ever happens again to any other person. One of the ways that can be prevented from happening is by not letting it be brushed under the carpet.

Autism Speaks is claiming (and not just in that video) that all parents of autistic children harbor murderous thoughts. It’s not hard to see how an irresponsible claim like that could influence a depressed or otherwise troubled parent to act on such thoughts.

Not at all. As far as I was concerned, the whole issue of DAN practice was pretty irrelevant to me and mine – partly due to where I am and mostly due to our view of the spectrum, which doesn’t seem to require these drastic measures. That however changed and for two reasons. One, the view of autism being promoted was a) inaccurate and b) could have deleterious effects om my child’s future. DAN practitioners apparently like to promote the myth that your child doesn’t have a future unless you use treatment X TM. So the big push to demonise autism for fun and profit impinged on my peripheral vision, which led to the next thing.
It seems obvious that in the milieu of laissez faire autism econotherapy, what was being ‘left to be’ were the very obvious risk factors for these various therapies, all of which were being borne by the autistic child and none by the parents or the practitioners. And it’s not the oversight of using the wrong chelator. It’s much more along the lines of the child requiring a kidney transplant in their 30’s because of the chelation damage done when they were 3 or 4 or 5. Ditto for liver damage. You might say that Katie McCarron and Marcus Fiesel represent, in the newspeak, collateral damage; Katie because her mom bought the ‘desperation for a cure’ rhetoric hook line and sinker and Marcus because the side effect of the rhetoric is that autistic kids are expendable and anything you want to do to them has to be alright because, well, they’re autistic. This latter view is beautifully illustrated by the latest antics of Geier, Pere et Fils. Want to make megabucks ?- great – invent the Lupron protocol. Who cares about the kids, not the Geiers and not their parents either. The risks to the child of this protocol are, in Professor Baron Cohen’s words unknown at this time and no one is calculating them, least of all the Geiers. Take a look at Kathleen’s latest, but one. It’s a beaut. The Geiers have found a way to extract $1.5million dollars worth of research data from the parents. How about that! Do all these tests, leaving out the one test that differentially diagnoses precocious puberty. Easy to see why they left that one out – bang goes the lucrative protocol if they had that kind of data and it got out.
Anything I can do to squash these two unsavoury characters, i will do, and that includes holding DAN practitioners accountable for their part in perpetuating dangerous practices. Has any DAN practitioner stood up and pulled the Geiers into line or have they invited them along to their conferences and otherwise kept quiet?

I don’t care what you feel about me. My remark about respect was meant in regards to the three year old boy this thread was – at one time – actually about. You and Kevin Champagne have hijacked a post that did not mention anything to do with mercury, chelation, biomed, neurodiversity or vaccines and turned it into your own private battleground. If you had any semblance of dignity you’d behave with more respect.

Yes, they have and that action is insulting. You could publish a post that said nothing more than “Good Morning†and these folks would be there saying “ah ha, I knew that you were against biomed, your use of capital G and M proves itâ€. How someone can take a report about the barbaric death of a little boy and turn it into a biomed debate is beyond me. I think it is very twisted and certainly off topic.

OK Susan. I give up. I thought you realised this but you obviously don’t. I’ll spell it out for you.
When John, Kassi, KC, Diva, Wade, Prometheus, NM, Bart, Joe et al delete a comment, the reference to the deleted comment remains only because _they all use Blogger.com_ which is what that software does with deleted comments.
My blogging software is called WordPress. Like just about every other piece of blogging software on the planet when a comment is removed, no reference to it remains. There’s nothing suspicious about it – that’s just the way that software works. No big conspiracy theory.
In respect of your ‘disappearing’ comments, this is happening to you because I have very aggressive anti-spam features. As a blog gets more traffic, it gets more spam and therefore to save myself the never ending task of dealing with it I set up filters to handle it. I added your details to those filters awhile ago when I realised you couldn’t be trusted to post normally. Therefore comments you make seem to disappear to you and only you until I come along and free them up and/or edit them for relevancy. Again, no big conspiracy.
Sometimes you’ve used trigger words that trigger an automatic deletion of the comment. That’s not unique to you, lots of people – friends and foes – have done that.

I know other bloggers have other policies, and that’s fine, but for the record I’ve only deleted a few comments, and in each case it has been due to offensive language. Twice it were comments by a Kev impostor (likely JBJr) and one time it was a JBJr impostor. I leave most trollish comments alone, precisely because I invite people to rebutt my posts. They could otherwise claim that my posts have not been rebutted only because I delete messages. What you see is what you get there. For example, in my latest post debunking the autism “epidemic” you will find JBJr did post many messages (all of them a rehash of his usual talking points and completely irrelevant to the points of the post — but that’s obviously the best he can come up with).
JBJr, on the other hand, has been known to delete comments and blog entries for no good reason, typically when he can’t answer. He’s deleting every comment Nathzn makes, citing age (surpising JBJr discriminates based on age on top of everything else?) The other day he not only deleted a message, but deleted all messages in a thread and started over.

Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Dork, John and Sue, who have auto bans based on lots of filters including their names. You used Johns name at least once but because I’m a kind and generous person I stopped your comment from auto deleting. I’m also manually approving these comments of yours.
No comments have been deleted from this thread at all, although it may appear to you that your own appears and disappears depending on the status I, or the software, assign to it.
So, what have you achieved? You’ve made yourself look damn silly. Again. You’ve dragged a thread that simply expressed how terrible it was that another autistic child had been murdered down to your level of utter contempt for this boy’s life, death and suffering. You’ve again failed to engage on any substantive matters at all, preferring to concentrate your time on how comments work on blogs.
Why don’t you read Mike McCarron’s first post to this thread again Susan? Its the best one on here. I’m not religious at all but you don’t have to be to appreciate the importance and vitality of the message. Do you even recognise Mike’s last name and realise the significance of your utterly shameful and immature display on here?
I look forward to the day you can contribute something substantive to the debates on here because until then I’m not rescuing any more of your comments.

There’s no point to win or lose. This is (or was) a thread about a little boy who was murdered. The notion of point scoring in such a thread is tasteless.
On the original topic, that little boy was beautiful -just like Katie, just like them all. Thank you, MIke, for the very touching story. When will people get that this is about the kids (and autistic people in general)? If we make our children, what is best for THEM, what is right for THEM, the focus of our energies rather than what we believe is right for us, or all parents, or society, then we might actually get something useful accomplished. The focus of this story was supposed to be about this precious child, not about whether or not a handful of parents have had their feelings hurt by something Kev has said in the past. This isn’t a parent’s support forum as far as I know, so take your sad tales of misunderstanding and go cry on someone’s shoulder who actually gives a damn.

Well, I wish I hadn’t come around to read this yesterday. I was having a not-so-great day to begin with, and when I read this story and heard what these vile, evil, hateful people did to that beautiful boy, it just made me sick and sent me to a dark room to lie down and have a cry.
The terror and pain that child must have felt… It’s so deeply disturbing that I can’t find the words to express it.
The people who did this deserve never to see the light of day again. This can’t be excused or explained, it cannot elicit ANY sympathy on behalf of the foster parents. In many cases, I can, in my too-empathetic heart, find at least a trace of compassion for the perpetrator (this being one of the curses of being empathetic), but in this case, I can think of several tortures that I think would be applicable to them.

It’s very disturbing, indeed.
Seems that life has little value these days if it doesn’t fit in with the expectations of greater society’s ideas of what it should.
This leaves me, as does the death of any child by malicious means particularly, feeling very sickened.

It’s not just these days. Humans have always been murderous. Anyone too inconvienient or too troublesome has always been a target for permanent removal from society.

You have a beautiful daughter. It’s a shame about Marcus. Yes, parents of non-autistic kids also murder their children. Trying to cover all of it on your own would by necessity make it vague. Your focus on the autistic kids, coupled with other people’s foci elsewhere, only serves to help increase the detailed information we can recieve.
Parents shouldn’t be supported for murdering their kids just because they think the kid is “broken”. It doesn’t matter if it’s because they are autistic, or if it’s because they have the wrong color eyes. Nonetheless, calling attention to the fact that people are attempting to use these reasons, and refuting them, helps more than just the subgroup in question. It helps call into question the notion of broken kids.
