Believe it or not, there is a application/quiz on Facebook called “How Retarded Are You?”
Luckily there is also a movement to have this removed from Facebook, with the simple mission statement:
Let’s band together and get FB to forbid this ridiculously offensive quiz from being taken by anyone again.
If you are on Facebook, consider signing on to the petition. It’s another step in ending the use of the r-word.
The Special Olympics campaign is separate from this facebook movement, but I thought it worthwhile to include their Public Service Announcement here:

There is also a group dedicated to pressuring Facebook to stop allowing groups which mock disabilities.
Didn’t see this,but it doesn’t sound all that different from the AQ test.

I guess being funny and insulting is more important than being outraged at a quiz with questions like:
“Assuming the state allows you to create offspring who is your best choice for a babysitter?”

Anyway, this quiz is radically different from the AQ test. The AQ test looks for social, behavioural and interpersonal presentations of archetypal autistic traits that appear in the general literature. It has undergone the usual inter-rater, trans-test, inter-subject and test-retest processes, and is the result of refinement based on critique and comments from outside sources.
The HRAY quiz is based on social stereotypes of people with conditions that cause ‘Mental retardation’. There is no evidence of any refinement process at all.
They are both trait based tests. That is the end of their similarities. To compare the two and hold they are similar could be seen as potentially libellious towards the developers of the AQ.
Roger – contribute to the debate,stop being purposefully insulting or be banned. Hopefully that’ll tickle your fuckwit bone.
