So, Mr. Kennedy does cancel some speaking engagements
I recently wrote about how Robert Kennedy Jr. is gutless (I’m an autism parent. No way I will vote for Robert Kennedy Jr.. He’s gutless). Over the past few decades, Mr. Kennedy has spoken at many events where fake, even abusive, therapies are promoted to autism parents for use on their disabled children. As a […]

Four years out, let’s look back on the Shelter-In-Place order for Santa Clara County
It’s four years since Santa Clara County (SCC) ordered shelter-in-place to limit the spread of COVD-19. This was the first such order in the country when they did this on March 16, 2020. It is a decision which gets much criticism today from some quarters. Is that criticism deserved? Let’s start with a simple metric […]

I’m an autism parent. No way I will vote for Robert Kennedy Jr.. He’s gutless.
As an example, I will discuss one particularly egregious “therapy” that was used on autistic children, the so-called “Lupron protocol”. Mr. Kennedy was in a perfect spot to stop or limit this therapy, but he never did. It would have taken courage, and, in my opinion, Mr. Kennedy is gutless. Robert Kennedy (RFK Jr.) is […]

Flu vaccine given to pregnant women doesn’t cause autism. Is anyone surprised?
I happened to run across this study from last year: Maternal Influenza A(H1N1) Immunization During Pregnancy and Risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder in Offspring : A Cohort Study and thought it worth highlighting. The anti-vaccine movement has been good at moving goalposts and one of their lines in recent years has been that vaccines are […]

Looks like the NAS is getting its shit together. It has taken them long enough, if you ask me. But I’m sure everyone will be glad to see them going out to spread their message. Ditto Bob MacNeil coming back for a PBS series of reports.
If those who believe that there may be environmental causes of developmental disorders turn out to be right, people will look back at this interlude caused by Wakefield, Jenny McCarthy, the Age of Hatred site and so forth with burning outrage.
If there are toxic substances out there doing harm to children (and I recall Tom Insel at NIH pretty much saying that there were too many candidates to know where to start) then there’s not one minute of time and not one cent in public money to be wasted over those lying fools.
Just my opinion (feeling), but it pissed me off royally. I didn’t read it, I just looked at the ADS! OH, AM I SHOUTING? FORGIVE ME FOR THINKING IT SO OPPORTUNISTIC! Good God, I’d have been overwhelmed by something like that in the early days…
It is a bit ad-heavy, I agree.
Funny how I arrived back here

AWOL wants us all to read the adventures in autism blog. But he/she doesn’t want to actually add anything other than:
I call this spam. I get a lot of this, mostly from ‘bots, leaving links to other sites. Using this site to drive traffic. Not adding to the conversation. Sure, it’s nice to know that Ginger reads this blog. I can’t say I return the favor.
I tried to leave a polite comment on Gingers blog once. Imagine my surprise when it was deleted as quickly as it appeared. She comes across as an angry and bitter lady. So I’ll give the link a miss. AWOL feel free to send me a link to her blog when she cheers up.
I read Ginger’s blog now and again but its not what it once was. Ginger stopped making rational points a fair while ago sadly.
Last time I read her making any sense, Hurricane Katrina hadn’t hit Louisiana yet.
This was a Media Planet insert which is funded by advertisements, and presumably The Independent was paid well for circulating it. It’s not editorial content. Apology if stating the obvious, but there were comments above about the heavy advertising content. Newspapers often carry these externally compiled promotional inserts, and when I see them they go straight in the bin. They presumably are the price that needs to be paid when struggling paid-for print newspapers try to survive.
