Trump administration seeks to weaken disabled Americans’ access to community-based services
When I was young, people like my kid were institutionalized. Access to community, either in their residence or their daily activities, was limited. Which is a nice way of saying, a lot of people never saw the outside of an institution. I don’t want to go back. I don’t want to think that after I […]

Dramatic Cuts in New NIH Research Funding Across the Board
NIH autism research funding has collapsed since Mr. Kennedy became HHS Secretary. I wrote about this in my open letter to the IACC. Then I got curious: are the cuts limited to autism, or is this happening across NIH? The answer: it’s everywhere, and it’s worse than I expected. Below is a graph I made […]

Open letter to the IACC: Autism research is stalled. Get secretary Kennedy to make new autism research grants.
Secretary Kennedy has cut back on autism research, and you can act. You should act. You must act. Here are data from NIH Reporter on new NIH autism grants by fiscal year. I pro-rated the results from 2026, since the fiscal year ends in September. This graph shows only those grants which are new in each fiscal […]

The new White House ballroom won’t cost taxpayers anything. That is, as long as you don’t value the east wing. Or, Surprise! Trump lied.
Yes, this is a different topic than typical for this blog. But, let’s consider a simple and obvious lie by our president: the As is typical for this president, this project involves multiple lies. Here are but two. First, the White House would not be changed itself. Just added to. As noted in a recent […]

Reportedly, Mark Blaxill is a CDC “Senior Advisor”. Remember, this is not The Onion.
How does one recapture trust in the public health system? I can tell you one way to make it worse. Put Mark Baxill to work at the CDC. Mr. Blaxill is a long time anti-vaccine activist who has done a lot of harm promoting the “vaccines cause autism” lie. We on this blog have been […]

Isn’t Google a splendid thing?
To anyone thinking of using a questionable therapy: don’t get played for a fool, Google it first. Play detective and dig around a bit…Doesn’t take much time or effort, and it can save you a world of hurt.
Nice, Kev…I like the real time feel of this. Cool music, too 🙂
Thankfully if you use Google these days, some of the first sites that come up for these ‘questionable therapies’ happen to be Autism Hub sites.
T’was not always so 🙂 Kudos to Kev and others who are working to present the other side of things.
You have to wonder, if DAN! is so groundbreaking and cutting edge, why do they only attract the dregs of the medical profession?
Is it a coincidence that all of these mavericks and pioneers graduated near the bottom of their class, if they even attended or graduated medical school at all. If they are all so brilliant and innovative, they should have aced their medical training with honors, you would think.
No, it must be part of the conspiracy to suppress the truth and discredit the scientists who are trying to help autistic children. The CDC must have used time travel to tamper with their medical school transcripts to make them all look like flakes and quacks. That’s it.
It’s de rigeur to be board certified in a specialty, but in checking on the big names of DAN!, of the M.D.’s very few are board certified. Kartzinel is, Krigsman is. Rarely they are board certified in some kind of pediatrics. Frequently their training had nothing to do with the area they are practicing in, like Neubrander trained as a pathologist, Bradstreet as an OB-GYN, Geier as a genetecist, McCandless is a sex therapist, Roy Kerry is a board certified ENT who was doing lots of chelation on adults (presumably for things unrelated to their ears, noses and throats) when he got into autism. Rimland was never an MD just a PhD psychologist without a psychology practice. Green has a board order against him, Krigsman has had some kind of disciplinary action against him, Wakefield’s in deep trouble in the U.K., Bradstreet doesn’t have hospital privileges, neither does Andrew Levinson. If their patient gets sick they can’t officially visit them in a hospital and direct the nurses to give the patient and aspirin or anything.
Ah, but Ms Clark, do you really need any qualifications at all to promote the DAN protocol?
Surely not.
PS: why dig for gold when you can use an endoscope?

Thanks for that image Brian
While we’re talking about hospital prvileges and the like, maybe I could take this opportunity to introduce the mighty autism Hubbers here to the latest on Dr Wakefield’s associate, Dr Arthur Krigsman.

It has stuff about risk to children. U know, the usual for these guys.
Thanks for those Brian.
