Apply for Autism Research Grant

23 Sep

The Autism Science Foundation announce their first RFA:

The Autism Science Foundation invites applications for its Doctoral Training Award from graduate and medical students interested in pursuing careers in basic and clinical scientific research relevant to autism spectrum disorders.

The proposed training must be scientifically linked to autism and may be broadened to include training in a closely related area of scientific research. Autism Science Foundation will consider for training purposes all areas of related basic and clinical research including but not limited to: human behavior across the lifespan (language, learning, communication, social function, epilepsy, sleep, repetitive disorders), neurobiology (anatomy, development, neuro-imaging), pharmacology, neuropathology, human genetics/genomics, immunology, molecular and cellular mechanisms, and studies employing model organisms and systems.

    Please follow this hypothesis:
Plastic is the cause of the rapid rise in autism.
The human brain works primarily by electrical energy. Plastic is an excellent insulator. Plastics photo-degrade; they get smaller but remain as plastic. During the time of fetal neural development, at the moment that the nerves should make connection, they are blocked from doing so by a piece of plastic. I believe the autistic mind produces the same amount of electrical energy and that energy has fewer areas of diffusion. This is evidenced by the heightening the various senses experienced by the autistic individual. Note the rapid rise in autism in the last twenty years and consider the time it would take for the plastics to infiltrate our ecosystem or the direct ingestion of photo-degraded liquid by pregnant women.
I am aware of how much is said about the effects of plastic but I have never heard of it in the above context; that the plastic itself is acting as insulating particles in the electrically based environment of a developing fetus’s brain resulting in neural dysfunction…as if there was a small piece of plastic blocking the neurons from connecting.
The easiest way to see this is to take a plastic bottle of drinking water and freeze it. Let it thaw and sit. Turn it upside down, turn it into the light and see the shiny plastic particles descend in the water that you are about to drink. These larger pieces will be filtered out, but what about the particles from this source and the rest of the environment?
I believe that this hypothesis bears investigation.
    Thank you for your consideration.

    plastic,thimerosal,humidity and what more ?

Please, take the time to read at least “Study finds no evidence of autism surge in children “

F**k that, I doubt if I fit the criteria, being an honest researcher into the phenomenology of autism with a lot wider reference than medical misdirection and convention.

Science is not what most people consider science, science is a method, it has to be critical, and a proper understanding of science has to conclude the human fallibility factor which I would call corruption, as vile as any rotting bones in ancient tombs, because science has fractioned off into so many mutually ignorant and non recognising branches.

One should not forget the contribution of what was once called the Queen of Sciences “sociology” as a possible metanarrative.

Methodology perhaps is all, but there is so much ignorance, lack of education, lack of cultural capital, lack of the most basic critical faculties amongst so many published “illuminati”

Oh I get the plastics connection alright, it is little big man himself, Dustin Hoffman, who went from being a little worried about his future (and driving the wrong way to Berkeley accross the Bay Bridge) to being the rain man:)

Autism originated before the big bang (no not the TV show stupid), in the very way that the physics of our present universe organises (or does not, dead cats, and rabbits notwithstanding)
