Readers here may recall this recent article: Polly Tommey won’t judge parents who murder their disabled children. That’s part of the problem. We discussed this video where Polly Tommey tells us about how she won’t judge parents who murder their autistic children.
In a later video she used the “I haven’t walked in their shoes” excuse.
Since then Ms. Tommey, through her film distributor Cinema Libre Studio, has threatened to sue an autism parent. An autistic autism parent. Fiona O’Leary: Cinema Libre Studios and Andrew Wakefield’s Vaxxed team threaten autistic autism mom.
In a more recent video she has posted she flat out judges Fiona O’Leary.
“She’s a pain, that woman”.
“She claims to be on the spectrum. In that case I feel bad for you.”
“She hasn’t seen the film” (Fact check–Fiona has, indeed, seen Vaxxed.)
Here’s a word for Polly Tommey:

The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform; pretense.
Kill a kid: you will not be judged.
Criticize Polly Tommey: you will be judged.
Someone has her priorities seriously out of order. And it’s not Fiona O’Leary.

And Polly “I’m not anti-vaccine” Tommey boldly states that vaccines are murder. Nope, not anti-vaccine at all.
WTF?!
Yep. That’s our “autism advocate” Polly Tommey.
And she claims that Fiona (and everyone who disagrees with her) doesn’t understand her position, but they all come over when they see the film and hear the stories.
Been listening to the stories for over a decade, Polly. Like Robert Krakow’s story. Brian Hooker’s story. Read many others from the vaccine court documents. Stories that show that parents often just do not recall the facts correctly.

Polly Tommey’s efforts make a mockery of the actual rare cases of vaccine injury, to be blunt.
And Tommey talks about other people not understanding her position when she can’t be bothered to look into the criticisms that Fiona makes. Or just doesn’t care about being honest. It seems Tommey was promoting MMS in at least one venue. First Tommey comes forward and says that she’s not using bleach enemas on her kid, then she says she’s not selling it. But she won’t actually address the real criticisms.
There’s a video where Tommey thanks people for pressuring a newspaper to quash a story about her. Because, you know, stopping discussion is OK when it’s Polly Tommey. All their talk of the faux-censorship of “vaxxed” is just more PR B.S..
Wow! I drove by a church in my city and saw that the church will be hosting a screening of Vaxxed this week with two of the producers there for a Q&A session. I have written to the local ASAN chapter to see if there is a protest planned, or how I can help. I feel totally overwhelmed, and it seems that nothing you can say to the producers makes any difference at all. They’ll just call me a “troll.” I would like to present something that highlights the ableism that Vaxxed promotes, and offers critical thinking counterpoints, because it seems that a lot of people who see Vaxxed believe what they see. It’s incredible to me!

First, do your homework. Read up on Matt’s articles specific to the whistleblower nonsense, especially his posts on the Thompson documents. You might also peruse a sort of CDC Whistleblower FAQ that I wrote. It hits some of the big points, with links to additional resources.
If you are going to engage anyone there, you really need to know the material forward and back. As far as highlighting the ableism, just quote their own words, such as Tommey’s “I won’t judge murderers” bit, or Bigtree’s comparison of autistic people to dogs and chimps. There are some posts at Reasonable Hank’s blog, IIRC, that have several videos of them in one spot for easy viewing. You could also note how they treated the ASAN protesters, and what their supporters have said about those protesters.
But, yes, they will call you a troll. They will probably call you a shill, or ask how much you are being paid to protest. Basically, prepare for personal attacks trying to discredit you, rather than address any substantive points you bring up.

That’s absolutely insane that she “will never judge” parents who kill their children “because of the way the world is today.” WTF kind of rationalization is that! ???
I noticed she hasn’t killed herself yet. Kind of a double standaard there, huh.
Maybe instead of promoting murder (basically in effect genocide) she should be trying to change the world to be a more autistic-friendly atmosphere!
That would be a whole lot better use of her time than all this anti-vax BS she’s engaging in!
I have not seen Vaxxed and feel no need to do such (I certainly will not pay to view it).However, some parents I know have seen it and unfortunately they also believe that autism is caused by vaccines.
Two questions; 1. Is there a way to view it for free? and 2. Where can I find the best reviews of the film?
The film has been uploaded to some torrent sites. The Vaxxed team is rightfully upset with that.
I believe it is also in the Netflix lineup right now.
Thanks Matt. I am no fan of torrent sites either. I don’t have Netflix. I have Amazon Prime and will check there.
Amazon has many documentaries to offer and most of them are of very poor quality. I wouldn’t be surprised if the offering on Netflix is much the same.

I would not watch the film for my own reasons and I appear to be unable to obtain response now from most.
