Nothing sells unproven “treatments” like testimonials. For autism it has been true since the days of chelation and even before that. Tell people that your “treatment” cures autism and you have testimonials to show it and you can just about guarantee sales.
Such is the case with bleach. It’s called many things: MMS, CD, Chlorine Dioxide, parasite protocol. It’s all a scam. One which is easy to fall for, but a scam nonetheless.
Point out that this “treatment” is nonsense and amounts to abuse and you get attacked for opposing treatment. You are told, “Yeah, what about those 162 kids who were cured?!?”
Well, let’s meet MMS/CD success story number 163. It’s an amazing story. And fabricated. And Kerri Riviera, the woman most prominently pushing MMS/CD on the autism community, accepted it without any effort to corroborate the story. None.
Dear Internet,
The bleach people claim they gave healed 163 kids from autism, but have they really? After spending months in their forum, you begin to wonder. Every so often, a new story pops up and the bleach people rejoice. The latest was #163 from France:
As it turns out, there is no #163. This child, the one who was miraculously healed, does not exist. This story was fabricated by someone questioning the authenticity of Kerri Rivera’s claims. As suspected, Ms. Rivera took credit and used this story as further “proof” that CD can cure autism. You can read the entire account of how this went down here:

And when you’re finished, share it with your friends. These kids are being abused and the parents are being lied to. Kerri Rivera belongs in jail, along with anyone else recklessly promoting this dangerous snake oil.
Until Next Time,
#nomorebleach
Since Kerri Riveria’s facebook is open only to friends, I have to take this on trust that this was posted there.
I have now confirmed that this happened.
Let’s trick people into abusing their children – and then post stories that may well be untrue to convince others to do the same.
Despicable.
Ugh… So basically, a extremenly low quality requirement on testimonials, while they basically are their only evidence. I can’t believe they still don’t see why some people think they have a problem.
There is no cure from autism, I think each child is different in every wat but kids with autism need to be understood a lot more than what they actually are
Agreed.
Let’s meet Kerri Rivera’s “91st Recovery,” an example of the cult magical thinking these claims represent. The parent claiming her child is the “91st Recovery” is one of Rivera’s 10 youtube testimonials filmed at 2012 Autism One, a contributor to Thinking Mom’s Revolution (JuicyFruit), and a (mostly former) poster/MMS promoter on an autism message board. She also maintains a blog of her own touting CD/MMs as well as other treatment quackery.
Her child, now about 10 years old, functions as a (young) toddler in most developmental domains (as per her own description), just as he did prior to several years (now) of bleach treatments. Shockingly enough, the mother had this child insert his own enemas (awesome skill to teach a child – especially one with very limited understanding — right?).
After being called on the problems with her testimony, she removed many of her “inconvenient” posts both on the following message board and her blog, as anticipated (though not before screenshots were made):

Nonetheless, the claims for this cruel quackery continue. So sad for the children whose parents believe.
As much I am against CD and think Rivera is nothing more than Jenny McCarthy type, I have serious suspicions about this woman who took time and efforts to post this false recovery story. What incentive does she have in doing all this? I am also against a lot of stuff, but I wouldn’t bother doing all such stuff unless I have some incentive in doing so.
And I don’t know if this woman really has a child on autism spectrum. If not, BACK OFF. Don’t make mockery of our children’s disability, under disguise of exposing alternative meds, unless you have lot better alternative to help our kids. CD users are absolute tiny tiny fraction of parents with ASD kids (just like rest of the society has tiny fraction of dumb nuts). A significant majority of ASD parents have brains at right place and can take right decisions for their kids.
You say that as though both are peddling harmless wares. They are not. McCarthy has convinced many parents that autism is ‘curable’ by lying about her son’s diagnosis and treatments. Rivera is claiming that shoving bleach into your autistic kid will cure them. And you don’t have a problem with this?
Aaah, exposing Rivera for the lying skank she is?
Why? What could possibly be wrong with exposing charlatans preying upon desperate parents with something as awful and dangerous as bleach enemas, drinks and baths?
So let those children fall through the cracks and let them continue to be actively harmed by their parents? Your criticisms are sorely misplaced.
“What incentive does she have in doing all this?”
I can not claim to speak for the person who did this. But one answer seems obvious: to demonstrate that the claims of recovery are unsubstantiated. Since those claims are the primary selling point for this abusive “treatment”, it seems a good
Could you propose another way to test the veracity of these claims? One thing those promoting such therapies always have are testimonials and they control the message. One can rarely check the veracity.
Exposing the false claims of Ms. Rivera does not make a mockery of my child’s disabilities. One of which is autism. CD users may be a small fraction of our community. Do we stand back and let the message about CD be controlled by those selling it? Do we stand back and refuse to challenge the sales pitch?
Who’s making a mockery of children’s disabilities? When those “treatments” include shoving industrial bleaching chemicals into autistic kids, that’s child abuse.
Stop defending these abusing parents and the purveyor of dangerous chemicals.
all the people talking about industrial bleach , need to remember in chemistry ‘ dilution is the solution’ also oxidation is the bodies way of ridding itself of pathogens and bacteria our bodies replace themselves every 7 years that is a lot of oxidation of worn or wobbly cells if your body cant keep up say because of old age ,you can expect things do go wrong ie cancer. Anti oxidant are a safeguard against over oxidation , and our food supplies plenty of anti oxidants.
Apologist.
Parents are encouraged to apply enough bleach to their children, disabled children, so that the linings of their intestine are passed. These are called “parasites”, even though even Kerri Rivera admits they don’t test as being non-human flesh.
You are encouraging this with your misinformation. You are contributing to the abuse of disabled children when you do so.
And all either to promote your own MMS business or as a fanboy for others who do.
Be proud, Bill Robertson. Be proud. If you are successful more disabled children will suffer needlessly. Be proud.
